Special Exhibition “DAIKANYAMA feat. OTOHA” will be held for three days only, from September 26 to 28.
In this exhibition, I will present a triptych inspired by and modeled on Otoha Asahi.

I first met Otoha when I held my solo exhibition I’m in TRANS. She was introduced to me by Mr. Ogawa of LWArt, and the moment I saw her Instagram, the impression that struck me in one word was “emoi”—a kind of raw emotional aesthetic. The texture of film and the flickering of light carried that very feeling, and I began to wonder how I could express it within my paintings. That was the starting point for this new body of work.
Until now, I had mainly painted anonymous images drawn from social media. But since collaborating with Remu Suzumori, I’ve increasingly felt the desire to portray real individuals and characters in the form of portraiture. This impulse led me to the concept I am currently exploring, SELFY: INTO THE REAL.
When painting Otoha, my focus was on how to distill her identity into lines and colors. My work is characterized by simple lines, but in order to layer the “emotional” qualities of film—light leaks and color shifts—I challenged myself to create gradations with an airbrush.
For the setting, I chose Daikanyama, a neighborhood where I once lived. When I thought of painting Otoha, its scenery surfaced naturally from memory.
The works on view are the triptych passes, passing, and passed. They depict the moment before a train arrives, the instant it passes, and the time after it has gone—an unfolding story of shifting scenery along the passage of time.

本展示では、朝日音羽さん@otohaaaa12をモデルに描いた3連作を発表します。

僕が音羽さんと出会ったのは「I'm in TRANS」の個展を開催した時。LWArtの小川さんに紹介していただき、彼女のInstagramを見た瞬間、ひとことで言うと「エモい」という印象を受けました。フィルムの質感や光の揺らぎに漂うそのエモさを、絵の中でどう表現できるか──そこから今回の作品制作は始まりました。
これまで僕は匿名的なSNSのイメージを描いてきましたが、鈴森れむさんとのコラボ以降、実在する人物やキャラクターを肖像画として描きたいという気持ちが強くなりました。その流れの先にあるのが、いま取り組んでいる 「SELFY: INTO THE REAL」 というコンセプトです。
音羽さんをモデルに描くにあたって意識したのは、彼女のアイデンティティをどう、線と色に落とし込むか。僕の作品はシンプルな線が特徴ですが、そこにフィルムの光漏れや色のズレといった"エモさ"を重ねるために、エアブラシによるグラデーション表現に挑戦しました。
舞台に選んだのは代官山。かつて僕自身が住んでいた街であり、音羽さんを描こうと思った時に自然と記憶から浮かんできた風景です。
展示作品は「passes」「passing」「passed」の3連作となります。電車が通る前、通過する瞬間、通り過ぎた後──時間の流れとともに移ろう情景を一つの物語として描きました。
今回の展示は 3日間だけの特別開催 です。ぜひ代官山で、その一瞬を一緒に体験していただけたら嬉しいです
